October 2026
As we approach two years since the incident that forever changed our family, our gratitude for Seattle Children’s Hospital is greater than ever.
During the most unimaginable time in our lives, Seattle Children’s became so much more than a hospital to our family. The doctors, nurses, specialists, and staff provided Lukas with exceptional care while giving our family compassion, comfort, and hope when we needed it most. The impact they made on our family is something we will carry with us forever—and it is at the heart of why giving back to Seattle Children’s has become so important to the Henderson Family Foundation.
Over the past two years, that mission has grown into something we are incredibly proud of. Starting in May, together, we have donated more than 17,654 items—including supplies, toys, comfort items, books, blankets, and essentials for PICU babies and their families—with a
value of more than $10,000. The Henderson Family Foundation was also honored to make an additional $15,000 donation to Seattle Children’s Hospital to support the incredible work being done every day for children and families facing the unimaginable.

As we recognize Shaken Baby Awareness and approach this two-year milestone, we continue to share Lukas’s story in hopes of raising awareness, encouraging prevention, and turning an experience that changed our family forever into an opportunity to help others.
None of this would be possible without the community that has surrounded us.
To our friends, family, colleagues, and every person who has donated, shared our mission, supported Lukas, or simply stood beside our family—thank you. Your support has carried our family through the past two years, but its impact reaches far beyond us. Because of you, we are able to continue supporting Seattle Children’s and other children and families facing circumstances no family should ever have to imagine.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Lukas, standing with our family, and helping us turn his story into something that can bring hope to others.
The Henderson Family Foundation
